Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

From what I understand, it's some sort of situation where you're transported to another world so that you can save it. Kumon was quite the expert on it, here.

I've been being dragged into all sorts of 'world-saving' as of late. This would suggest I'm still beholden to it.

I wouldn't say that. The Warrior of Light is far more well-versed in these kinds of things. I am, at best, a hired lance.

Well, you say you do this sort of thing often, but you don't make a point to. You're a hired lance, but if you're being dragged in, according to your own words, it doesn't sound as though you're being contracted specifically to save the world.

So I assumed that this Warrior of Light is the one involving you in these affairs, with or without payment?

...Correction. I am being paid. [ To be fair, and to set the point straight, there. ] But given that I am expected to travel and expend resources, and focus my time on these endeavours when I could be doing aught else, monetary compensation seems to be fair.

[ Long story short: please don't call him a hero or a good friend, it's weird. He ghosts his bff for three whole expansions. ]

As for the Warrior of Light -- consider it more a debt repaid.
