GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

Yeah, I'm fine. Just wounded my pride... [ she rubs at her back and frowns, not taking ruby's help just yet ] And my butt.

Your poor butt. [ she looks up at the sky and then back down, kneeling beside marceline. ]

What were you trying to do, anyways?

Fly off to check out the rest of this place. [ she says it casually, staring at her hand and squinting at it. nothing is off with her hand. ] Looks like all my powers are broken though. Wild. That's never happened before.

[petalbursts]

You can fly!? That's so cool! [ she seems very excited, suddenly. ]

Wait a second...[ she stands and turns around, making an attempt to dash, but instead nearly trips and waves her arms around to balance herself. ]

My semblance...it's broken. [ she frowns and turns back to marceline. ] Well this is just...sad.

Haha, yeah, it's pretty cool.

[ she agrees flying is cool. she half stands up when ruby nearly eats dirt, but doesn't move since she manages to balance herself ]

Your powers too, huh? [ she assumes semblance is just some kind of magic. it's always some kinda magic. ] Sounds like it's a mass ability stopper thingy.

[petalbursts]

This place doesn't make any sense. [ she sighs. ]

Why would they take away all of our powers and- [ she pauses, reaching behind her back and then frowning loudly. ] They took Cresent Rose too!!??

[ why would it be a person if she reached behind herself for it, marcy. ]

[petalbursts]

My weapon! It's my most prized possession, I don't go anywhere without it...and they took it away.

[ she's pouting now. maybe a little overdramatic? ]

[ no this is valid. weapons are important ]

A weapon, huh? What's it look like? Maybe they just stashed it somewhere.

[petalbursts]

It's red and black, usually folded down so I can carry it better. Crescent Rose is a giant scythe, but it's also a gun.

[ she is deflating onto the ground. ]

I just hope they don't wreck it, where ever it is.

[ GASPS walking over and tugging ruby. uppies time ]

I wanna see! C'mon let's go see if we can find it!!

[petalbursts]

[ uppies for ruby! she is on board. ]

OH. Okay, yeah! Let's go!!

[ she is very excited now, less sad. ]

Awesome. Okay, pick an arch!

[ she's turning ruby around and the idea is that ruby will point at which arch she wants to go to. she does not tell her this ]

[ ruby closes her eyes and points, a completely random pick, and it is...

Alright! Let's go! I wanna see you use that thing in action. It sounds cool.

[ she is full of hopes and dreams. she leads the way ]

Maybe we could find my ax bass too.

[petalbursts]

Heck yeah!!

[ ruby follows excitedly, her eyes going wide. ]

You have a weapon too!? Ooooo what is it like!!

It's a guitar. [ she says this so casually as she steps into the arch and vanishes... and then pops her head back to finish the sentence ] I made it out of an ax. So I can schwoooop anything and play some rad tunes.
