WEEKEND ZERO: MINGLE
GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.
Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.
Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.
Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to
Things of note!
► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend, and happy settling!

Mmmmm... I'd call it... Greytopia. [ she phbts. ] No clue. Doesn't look like any place I've ever been to.
no subject
[Yeah, looks like this one knows nothing at all about this location. Alright then]
If we're all in the same situation asking around will be a waste of time. Moving somewhere else seems like the right move.
[That's...pretty much an invitation to come along with him if she wants, it seems?]
no subject
[ she points at it. anyway, she'll stand up ]
Guess there's nothing much else to do but look around, yeah. I hope the clock's not the only thing for miles.
no subject
[She's right, though...only a dead tree with a clock and not much of interest, except empty archways a short distance away]
Oh, pardon my manners, I should have introduced myself already. My name is Jack Simon, miss.
no subject
[ marcie you cannot just ask if people are human ]
no subject
That's right. Human through and through.
[Well, maybe not. A lot of people and some Contractors themselves see them as different from humans. He's fairly neutral about that, really]
no subject
[ she also admits to that without hesitation, looking at him curiously before shrugging ]
This place is full of surprises.
no subject
[...centuries. Wow, vampires really are as long lived as all the legends say. Are they vulnerable to garlic? Are they only killed with stakes? Would a stake made of ice work?
He begins walking, looking at the dead tree with interest. Seems like a fairly normal thing! Even though it has a clock!]
What sort of place did you come from that has only one single human in the vicinity?
no subject
[ it does not take away the insult if she adds that after it. she's also looking at the tree and not answering his inner vampire questions at all ]
Ooo used to have lots of humans, but then there was the Mushroom War, and then all the stuff that came after the Mushroom War... I dunno. They might still be around but hiding.
no subject
[If only November was the sort to laugh more, he actually found he being called smarmy kind of funny]
Humans are supposed to be adaptable and survive anything. They probably are just out of sight somehow.
no subject
[ she says this so casually. ]
no subject
[Giving the dead tree and the clock a complete examination shows...nothing. This is useless. Oh well. The only other thing of interest are the arches. The nearest one -- unbeknown to him it leads to the mansion -- seems like a good thing as any to examine]
So it's not only vampires trying to eat humans?
[Marceline seems to be pretty fine. November judges he doesn't have to be too tactful or careful with his words, so may as well ask straightforward]
no subject
no subject
[Whooops, November is gone. He was passing through the arch and then he disappeared in thin air]
no subject
[ she looks at the arch and pops her arm in casually. and then the rest of her body follows ]
'Sup!
no subject
"'Sup" indeed. Good news, we're not locked into a wasteland with only a dead tree.
[That sure is a mansion!]
no subject
Sweet. Let's find whoever owns this place and sock 'em in the nose.
no subject
no subject
[ how did this get to that so fast. ]
no subject
[I don't know but hey, it's good!]
no subject
no subject
Well being kidnapped by the owner of this house has to count as an invitation, if you squint your eyes and stretch the definitions of 'invitation' a little!
Looking around, soon he sees the fireplace with fire]
Regardless of what this is, someone was here not that long ago. You may get to beat someone up after all.
[He would be right if this wasn't supernatural fire that never dies, hah]
no subject
Maybe. Fire don't mean squat if you've got wizards or some biz like that. [ she goes over to the fireplace and makes a "huh" noise ] Weird. It's not even warm.
