WEEKEND ZERO: MINGLE
GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.
Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.
Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.
Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to
Things of note!
► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend, and happy settling!

AHHH!
[ a table of lab equipment topples over in her direction because he will definitely bump into everything behind him. ]

help]
AH!
[Well, this just kind of startles her more!! She screams, but like a soft one of surprise. But it does at least get her spit out so she isn't a scary, disembodied face! GOOD JOB! Just gonna chassé out of the way, no big deal.]
no subject
AH—! [ he yelps back, but eventually his heart stops beating out of his ears long enough to get a glance at her. ] ...O-Oh. You're a person.
no subject
You made a freaking mess, sir.]
Are you okay?
no subject
Oh! Yes! Just startled.
[ he stares back at her, equally wide-eyed. ]
I thought you were an, um... [ his gaze cuts over to one of the weird monsters hanging around in science soup. ]
no subject
Her gaze follows his to the—oh, right. She continues to look weirded out by this despite having been in here for a bit.]
Oh. Um. No. It was just me, sorry. […] I’m Hiyama Chinatsu.
no subject
Ah— [ he answers with a little bow. sure is weird how many of them happen to be japanese. wonder why that is. ] I'm Naruhodo Ryunosuke. ...Sorry for thinking you were a lab monster, Hiyama-san.
no subject
It's fine... [She returns the bow with a tiny one of her own.] Are you from... Japan?
[It at least makes her feel less weird.]
no subject
Yes, I am. [ it's a relief for him as well, shoulders inching down from where they've tensed up high. ] Though, um... I was in London before this. And it doesn't look like anywhere in Japan that I've seen...
no subject
Ehh? London? [Wow... Rich and famous man... (no)] Are we in a haunted warehouse, or something...?
But we were going back home after camp. Before I woke up here. I fell asleep in the car... beside Tatara and Mako-san.
no subject
...I'm sorry, none of that sounds familiar to me. I was at the courthouse myself before I must have lost consciousness. Somehow.
[ stranger things have happened in the supreme court.
long pause. ]
It... it does feel haunted, doesn't it?
no subject
Oh... [This sucks. Not that she expected him to know literally anything because she doesn't know him? It's fine.] Courthouse...? Were you in trouble...?
[Ryu.... being arrested in a foreign country........ He's Interpol wanted, wow.]
It's good there's no such thing as ghosts.
[haha]
no subject
[ he's very quick to correct her on this, because why does everyone assume he's the accused? ]
And... I hope you're right, but...
[ literally sweats nervously ]
