WEEKEND ZERO: MINGLE

GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to [community profile] chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend, and happy settling!

[ ho you don't even know his name?

walking speedily—how dare he! he's going to speed-stroll off with him. ]

You're really just going to just wander off and get yourself lost? Do you even know where you're going in the first place?

[ He reeks of long name syndrome. ]

And, pray tell -- do you know where we are? Because if you do, I would be happy to stop and listen.

[ This is not said in friendly terms -- rather, 'stop and listen' feels more like a euphemism for 'wring information out of you'. ]

[ oh he knows when someone wants to wring his neck. the sound is absolutely palpable, you are correct. this does not deter him. ]

Unfortunately, I don't have a single clue, which is why I propose you don't just go barreling in.

I've certainly never run into a place like this—not a drop of color to be seen. Have you?

[ He passes over Percy's question. ]

And what am I to do instead, sit around twiddling my thumbs until something else happens? Seems less wise than to take a look.

Be more strategic about all of it—perhaps our energy would better be placed in gathering up those like us and delegating tasks. Supplies and all of that.

We might have a better chance then of finding what is lost, as well.

Figuring out just precisely why we're here instead of... wherever we're supposed to be.
