GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

Will the end of this five minutes entail allowing someone to make sure you're at least not at risk of infection?

[ chang geng has the tone of someone... very used to this kind of thing, actually. a note of concern, yes, but also the exasperation of dealing with a misbehaving patient. ]

This place isn't particularly clean, but I've worked with worse before, with worse injuries than what I see at a glance.

If that someone is a cleric or physician of some kind... I would be inclined to perhaps cooperate.

[ i shouldn't be here, is what he means, but he just sort of blinks tiredly and lifts his glasses to get a less blurry picture of the person looking at him. he looks at his clothes briefly, the drained color, then nods. ]

Physician, yes. [ he has no idea what a cleric is.

but he does catch the unspoken meaning, and purses his lips briefly in understanding as he comes closer. the cloak is taken off, here, and folded so that he can lift percy's head and pillow it with the lush fur and fabric instead of the bench. ] Here. We can't do much about the cold, I don't think, but you can at least have some comfort while you're taking a moment.

[ he blinks a moment when the other comes forward, bracing himself on his elbows a second as if to get up only to feel the brush of the cloak as it's place just beneath his head. it seems awfully nice and he'd hate to ruin it but, at this point? he goes back down immediately and the knot in his brow lessens just a bit. ]

I... appreciate the gesture.

[ he glances upwards, hands folded not unlike a corpse. ]

I take it your stuck here as well? And I'm already giving you work. Hah.

[ clothes can be washed - chang geng would joke that he'd been washing these clothes every single day before arriving here, for a few days, but that's for another time when he's not assessing what he can see of his injuries. ]

You're injured, so some comfort should be afforded here if it can be.

[ that's that. he takes a knee next to the bench, to get a better assessment. what's up, crispy percy? ]

I am, yes. And I'd take the work over the reality of the situation - in that there doesn't appear to be much any of us can do at the moment. Better to stay busy and alert, and keep us all in one piece for when we can do something.

[ he doesn't expect that, but honestly, he won't refuse it because the warmth is just enough that he doesn't have to feel like he's elsewhere again.

in any case, he's both crispy and bloodied, some singe marks are from the heat of a pair of bullet wounds entering and exiting him. his shirt's in one piece, but a darkened patch of skin peeks up from the tattered collar. ]

Might have some trouble herding everyone together... but it should be doable. We have a far better chance of getting the hells out of here that way. Finding resources... all that.

[ he shifts a bit, wincing for a brief moment before easing back down again. ] And what should I call you, Doctor?
