Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

Well, if you are anything like most of the rest, you will insist you are human despite seemingly being the incorrect size for it. I am beginning to think you must all be a new variant on the species-- convenient enough, at the least, as the original was rather diminutive.

Interesting. Are humans as tall as you, then, where you come from?

They are not-- but they ought to be smaller than you, as well.

Oh? Smaller...?

[Huhhhhh.]

So what are you supposed to be, actually, besides a very tall old man?

Hardly one of the oldest among my kind, thank you.

I do not know whether we would be considered a 'government', exactly. [do they have that word yet] The Convocation serves as the guiding body of Etheirys, overseeing the world and its progress with our various areas of expertise.

The world at large? Must be a small world, to be looked over by fourteen people.

Our people as a whole look over our world, and 'tis we who guide them in turn.

The Convocation will hardly fall apart in my absence-- I am meant to be on something of a mission, yes, but then they are already operating without me for a time. It is not as if we may not ever attend to business elsewhere.

But I should very much like to return to that business, as soon as possible.

[Hm.]

Well. [She shifts back on one foot, looking up at him.] Let's get you to where you need to go, old man. We can't have them missing out on you.
