WEEKEND ZERO: MINGLE
GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.
Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.
Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.
Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to
Things of note!
► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend, and happy settling!

lab!
[hello there is also a very large man here, looking the lab over in a highly critical manner, his brow furrowed beneath his hood. it looks sort of like he tried to cover his face, but... everyone has to look up at him from such an angle that it actually hides nothing.]
no subject
he shrugs. the notes in his hand crumble in a timely fashion and he dusts his fingers off as he speaks. ]
And what, let what can be salvaged sit here and rot? Better to take what we can... it'll be more than what we had in the first place. We can toss what we don't need later if it proves useless.
no subject
[still. his nose wrinkles as he watches the paper crumble.]
But it seems you would be lucky to find anything that will prove useful enough.
no subject
[ bye bye paper ]
But you're right, this place otherwise is barren. I just wonder if maybe there's something left behind that has to do with all of this colorlessness.
Just do be careful that you don't knock into anything... you're rather tall.
no subject
[a little grumpily. look, it's weird that everyone else is so small and keeps insisting HE'S the weird one for it.
anyway, he glances back around the lab, peering critically at one or two of the smaller vials.]
If they can be identified, then mayhap you will prove right.
[please don't just experiment with unknown chemicals, though? please.]
no subject
as for the experimenting... he'll do it... responsibly... maybe. probably. ]
It might take us a while to get the proper equipment to do so, and it probably wouldn't do to test it on anyone here either of course...
no subject
[on things like scrap materials here, maybe? at least they will not be missed if these are, say, acids.]
