Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

What, the greyscale thing? Nah. I only eat red. Or lesser reds, like pink, but that's not as good. I was messing with you earlier, but it's not as fun if you don't even know what vampires are to be freaked out by it.

The color stuff is new, but the rest isn't that weird. Just decrepit old places all over. Maybe the color thing is the problem?

Sure. There's messed up abandoned places all over Ooo. [ it's pronounced like "who" and not o. ] Have been for a loooong time. They've still got color though.

[Ooo? Hmmm, it doesn't sound familiar, but he's not exactly well-traveled outside of his own country. Maybe Kashuu's heard of it...

But since she's apparently a vampire, maybe it's safe to ask--]

Are there any humans around?

[ she does not seem shocked yams isn't human, but that's because it is far more common for human looking people to not be human in ooo. ]

I happened. Vampire slaying was my jam back then, ha. [ she is so casual about this. she shrugs ] As for humans, they might still be around. No clue where though.

[He's technically a sword that kills other swords so he's assuming it's a similar situation. Huh! Maybe Kashuu knows?? Yasusada makes a note to ask if he's heard anything.]

Then, when you said "all kinds of stuff", what did you mean?

There's ghouls and ghosts and demons. Candy people, flame people, little talking hot dogs, all kinds of animals and bugs, fairies, pixies, rainicorns, cloud people, breakfast people, giants, mermaids, cyclops, elves, lards...

Hmmm. Depends. Some have been around forever, but some only showed up after the Mushroom War. [ this is vague and unhelpful ] Life kinda just shows up wherever, you know?
