Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

Ugh... I mean, I guess we don't really know what we're working against here. [...] Hey, this is a weird question, but are you, um. Like. Are you the kinda person who'd attract some major attention? Like... I dunno, a famous poet or country leader or something?

[Kashuu trying to subtly figure out if he's talking to a famous historical figure he just doesn't recognize and if that's why they've all ended up here, KIDNAPPED BY THE RETROGRADE ARMY.]

[(looks at her canon and laughs)]

Huh... Are you a really good doctor?

[Maybe she's important because she creates the cure to something five years in the future!!]

I'm rather skilled at what I do.

[closes my entire fucking eye set.]

Mmm... Then you might be important enough to be a target, I think.

Hmm, well... if medical skill is what makes someone a target, I'd have expected my master to have been taken, not me. I still have much to learn from him.

[slashay]

Maybe, yeah...

[Again, he's running into the barrier of "there's no way to word this without sounding like a CLEAR NON-HUMAN so time to just run fastly away".]

I could be guessing totally wrong anyway, though. A lot of stuff here doesn't add up.

We need more information. If there were locals we could ask, that would be helpful, but everyone I've run into so far also ended up here suddenly... or so they say, anyway.

[slashay]

You think any of 'em could be lying about it? They'd be pretty good actors if that was the case... And it'd also beg the question of, like, why. No point in a kidnapper-or-something trying to blend in with the rest of us, right?

[countermeasures]

Everyone I spoke to seemed to be telling the truth, but you're right. There's little point in doing that, and quite a lot of risk - I'd imagine most of us would turn on them if they were to be discovered.

Any potential payoff I can think of for trying to blend in simply doesn't seem worth the risk to me.

[slashay]

No one's gonna want to be out here alone with, like, twenty or thirty really angry people who want explanations and a way back outta this mess.

[He says this And Yet.]

So! We just gotta keep looking for clues. ...And missing stuff, 'cus it sounds like a lot of us are missing some pretty important things, too.

[countermeasures]

Yes, that's right.

[her mEDICAL SUPPLIES. PLEASE.]

The sooner we get our things back, the better. Hopefully that will coincide with us finding either a way out of this place, or a clue as to finding that way.

[slashay]

Ugh, please. I've already had more than enough of this place.

[IT'S CREEPY. Speaking of:] Wanna get outta here? I've already been wandering through it for a while and I haven't found anything useful. The crying never really gets any closer, either.

[countermeasures]

That sounds like a good idea. I'm starting to think the crying is some kind of an auditory hallucination.

[she frowns slightly.]

Maybe we'll have better luck finding something of use somewhere else.
