WEEKEND ZERO: MINGLE
GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.
Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.
Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.
Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to
Things of note!
► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend, and happy settling!

anyway, jiuqing frowns at the door after exchanging looks with her.]
I'm not sure. [...] But I don't like the sound of it.
no subject
Me either. What if it's a gang or something?
[This is what normies are realistically afraid of.]
no subject
[she considers that for a moment or two, then shakes her head.]
I think we'd be hearing more yelling than banging, if that were the case. [...] You know, people making threats and swearing revenge...

Why does this place look... haunted? A festival? But... we weren't going to a shrine... or a festival.
no subject
[which is a problem on its own!! what the fuck are those!!]
You passed through one to get here, too, didn't you?
no subject
But this sort of thing only happens in movies and books.

[so strange...]
...it's happening to us now, however it normally happens. [her brow furrows] But there must be some way out of it, surely?
no subject
[As if this explains everything.]
I... hope so? But our clothes... [The color.] Does it mean we're in a dream?
no subject
she doesn't ask, because that's not really the point here.]
A dream... [jiuqing frowns, then brings a hand up to her own cheek. a moment later, she pinches it. ...nope.] It doesn't seem like it...
no subject
[Dreams.
Her shoulders jump when the noise happens again.]
This place looks the most like home, but… I don’t think we should look around.
no subject
[the banging on the door drowns out whatever word she was going to finish that sentence with. she waits for it to stop before she continues.]
Would you like to explore somewhere else, then, Miss?
no subject
Oh. Hiyama Chinatsu. Sure… Do you think it can get out?
no subject
[she gives a bow, then glances at the door.]
...well, it's failing to do so thus far.
no subject
Nice to meet you.
[In this wild circumstance.]
Did you go through any of the other archways…?

Okay, sure. Thanks, Su-san.
