GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

[ she seems to accept this. she walks closer to danny in the tree, looking at him ]

Well, are you gonna get the clock then? 'Cause right now you're just hanging out in the tree.

Well. Not usually in the place I get time travel dumped into. The guy who controls all the time travelling, though, his place is full of clocks.

And-- [ he squirms a bit, unpinning himself from one branch and stretching to grab onto another ] --I'm still working on it, okay?

Sooo what, you think this is one of his wacko clocks?

[ watches him struggle and makes not a single move to help. ]

Wow. You're like, hardcore stuck. It's kind of impressive.

Maybe? I mean, usually when he time travels you, you get this medallion thingy, not a clock, but...I don't know. Randomly showing up in some super weird place I don't recognize? That's my best guess.

[ he slowly works his limbs through the maze of branches. He's making progress, albeit kind of slow. ] ...are you gonna help, or are you just gonna watch?

Cool. So does the medallion bring you back when you get it?

[ she laughs ]

Watching's funnier. Unless you want me to help? [ obviously. he does. she is being a shit. ]

More like the medallion is what lets you stay out of your own time. The second you take it off, you poof back to where you belong.

[ Danny pauses as he considers his options. Either he accepts the embarrassment of needing this girl to help him out of a tree, or he tries to do it on his own and falls to the ground like a clumsy idiot right in front of her. Neither is great, but... ]

...yeah, you know what? I think I do.

Haha, can't believe you asked for help getting out of a tree.

[ she says that but she does climb the tree a little to be able to reach danny. and then she just yanks at him very roughly so that he pops out of his own mess. this is probably painful, and she Will let him drop the ground right after ]

[ He yelps before collapsing to the ground in an embarrassing heap with a groan ]

Ugh...why did I even bother, I would've just fallen out like this on my own...

[ she is hanging out in the tree solely to look down at danny like this. ]

[ once he's dusted himself off and gotten back on his feet, he looks up to see...Marceline in the tree, right where he was previously stuck. ]

...okay, now you're just rubbing it in.

How'd you even get this stuck? Never climbed a tree before?

Not really. I haven't needed to climb a tree since I was like, six.
