WEEKEND ZERO: MINGLE
GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.
Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.
Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.
Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to
Things of note!
► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend, and happy settling!

[ Is that the unwanted mood? ]
no subject
Aye. Signs to deter one physically yet leaves the mind to wander, curiosity leading the charge. [ HE STILL WANTS TO SEE, BUT... ] So this is a temple for worship?
[ Looks around as they up the steps and bam building. ]
no subject
[ Thanks, Kashuu, you're a real peanut. ]
Without the ambiance that seems popular in these archways.
no subject
The architecture is reminiscent of the paintings I've seen of Hingashi. I wouldn't have taken the ratio to be universal across realms. A pleasant surprise. [ He frowns, though. ] 'Tis expected this place would be derelict like the rest, but disheartening all the same.
[ Except they can see a shadow? That rushes away? ]
Excuse me!
no subject
[ They? Roxana doesn't see this shadow because she doesn't have elf eyes and I say so. ]
Who are you talking to?
no subject
... There was a shadow and I had thought it belonged to another. [ Frowning. ] I posit a trick of the light or mayhap the lack of color.
no subject
[ is this a good or bad thing ]
I don't know if it's to make you more frightened or hopeful.
no subject
[ Should they just ignore them?? I guess so. He approaches the donation box at the shrine. It is in tatters. ]
I do prefer landing on hopeful rather than frightened. [ Box. ] Is this where they leave offerings?
no subject
You would like for the brighter side of things. It's commendable.
[ there is so little know about what cultures there are in her canon help ]
Is that what happens... in Hingashi?
[ That's the country Aymeric mentioned, wasn't it? ]
no subject
[ WHO WANTS TO BE SCARED. i'm so sorry ara. ]
I've never been, but 'twas what I was told. Though different from prayers in form, it's similar enough?
no subject
[ Some people are predisposed to pessimism, Aymeric. Or are creepy fucks. It's fine. Roxana is just, hmm, this very tall elf man has some kind of heroic disposition. ]
There's nothing quite like that at my home, so all I can do is learn about it here.
no subject
[ YEAH, MAYBE. Since they're in a shrine, he will... Cast a short prayer. ]
In the Holy See of Ishgard, we worship Halone, the Fury, in hopes with Her wisdom and strength we would persevere come what may. There will always be some who are more pious than I, but it's difficult for me to imagine my years without the faith, whether I put stock in it or not. [ ... ] If the topic is arid, there is more we can discuss, miss. I thank you for entertaining my idle thoughts all the same.
no subject
No, I don't mind learning about your home or about you. It is a much better topic than the conversations I am used to. Thank you for sharing.
Religion isn't something my family focuses on, so it's good to see other points of view.
