Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

Maybe - but I'll still try to outrun it. If it gets too bad, I'll just ask for my jacket back.

Who knows, maybe I'll find some spare blankets or coats while I'm looking around.

[ he does mean it in earnest, because it is cold. even colder than london feels most mornings. but as he shifts the jacket more comfortably onto his shoulders, he frowns. ]

I haven't seen anything that hasn't been covered in grime, or— [ he visibly shutters. ugh. ] blood.

but buzen will just nod!! every few minutes he'll feel a chill and do a full body shake like a golden retriever and do some little hops, but he'll otherwise suppress the cold as much as he can.]

Mm, same here... but it's pretty confusing. We all had to have arrived here somehow, but there's not really anyone to ask any questions to.

And a few laps around the place haven't yielded many hints either... Just a lot of little spooks. I think the spirits around here are having a lot of fun.

I mean—there's good spirits, of course. [ he's from an era where these beliefs are commonplace. spirits and demons and gods... all fair game, probably, even if he hasn't seen them himself? ] But the kind that scream and leave blood all over everything... wouldn't anyone be afraid!? [ GHOSTS.. SCARY ]

I suppose so. But I think they're probably just playing pranks more than anything. If danger actually comes up, then I can help you out there too.
