Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

That'll do. Perhaps the fire only is abnormal while it's in this fireplace. Please bring some to test if once there's some out of it the fire releases any heat.

[ He did! 9S considers this for a moment, then pushes himself to his feet. ]

Yeah, fine. Give me a sec.

[ He'll wander off to find a chair; November might even hear as he breaks off a leg. In only minutes, 9S returns, waving the leg around with one hand. ]

This good enough?

[Oh, he heard that indeed. He likes this one didn't mind doing a little property destruction for this. By the time 9S returns November's mood seems to have lightened up because of that]

That'll do. I'm sure the owner of this place won't mind a little vandalism while we get our bearings.

[Without hesitation November sticks the table leg into the fireplace, makes sure it's lit, and giving 9S a warning to step back he takes the table leg out, holding it up in the air. Slowly, he reaches at it.

No warmth]

How...bizarre...the fire itself is what's odd.

... Weird. I wonder how—I've never heard of fire that isn't warm before.

That's not the only strangeness around. I have been informed the food available in that creepy carnival barely fills you, and the water is not good for quenching your thirst. This is a world of useless stuff, isn't it?

[It'd be kind of neat if it wasn't because they're trapped in it]

Uh... How long are you gonna last if the food does nothing for you?

Well supposing that consuming those doesn't actually help with hunger, eight days is a bad scenario. If you're in good health and regulate your water intake properly, lasting for weeks is not unheard of.

[He shrugs]

It's too bad the water is not actually that great. Without that, I'd say we have only days left to live.

[You could afford to look upset about it, November, have a limit to your chill]

Days. That's... not good. Then we really need to find a way out.

[November nods gravely, tossing the leg of the chair into the fireplace]

There's one option to consider that perhaps will keep us alive a while longer. Near that temple there's a bridge over a river. There's a chance the river holds real, useful water.

[Or it could be a river full of useless anomalous water!]

Oh—right. We'd need a way to get down and back up, though.

Or lowering something to gather water is an option too. Like the bucket of a well.

[Or at least he thinks that will do]

Unfortunately we lack buckets or similar containers, so getting creative would be necessary.

Cobbling something together with what we have around shouldn't be difficult, in theory...

That's out of my skillset. Are you good at such activity?

I'm not an engineer or anything, but I know enough to build and repair some things.

How admirable! I can't even distinguish a hammer from a screwdriver.

[A ridiculous exaggeration but hey, November is fine with being encouraging about this. Everyone has their own strengths, his are a liiiiiittle on the violent side]

If you come up with a good container I can handle the issue of reaching the river.
