Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

Oh... Just - like, figuratively ages! Not literally! [Yeah! Normal human words.] It looks more Western than what I'm used to, is all. That's some really nice craftsmanship, though... Hey, are you a swordsman, then?

[He's completely abandoned his fire task for this?! Despite being dressed like a frilly twink, he seems genuinely interested in this guy's armor and potential sword-wielding...]

[ You know what, unfortunately Estinien has seen so much weirder and so much worse that Kashuu currently only comes off as a disgustingly optmistic whackhole. He doesn't like it, but you are within the realm of normal thus far. ]

Do I look like someone who wields a sword? I am a dragoon. [ Like this means SHIT to him. ] We wield lances and polearms as our weapon of choice, and it would be damned obvious had this place not robbed me of mine.

[That's so sad... He needs more normal people in his life, it's just too tragic if a sword is out here setting the bar for what's normal.

ANYWAY with some mild offense:]

That's a compliment, y'know! Anyway, we don't have dragoons or anything where I'm from. We've definitely got lances and polearms, though... Not as many people can wield 'em, so they're a little rare, I guess.

[Thinking about the three whole spears in their entire citadel...]

--Ugh, so it really is looking like it's all of us, then. No one's got any of their weapons on 'em - even in cases where stealing 'em shoulda been impossible.

All of it -- the only similarity it shares is the polearm itself, give or take.

How should I know? I've no idea what a thief's face aught to look like, but I've only got so much information to work with in a seeming sea of strangers.

[ But he's just frowning. Unfortunately he understands what Kashuu means, speaking of parting man and weapon. It's part of the reason why he's pretty miffed about this. ]

Right... about that. Have you gone searching for it or were you too busy testing your resistance to fire?

[AT LONG LAST he finally scoots away from the fire so he can properly stand and face this mans. He sets one hand on his hip, waving the other in a brief, flitting motion.]

First! It's a cute face, not a thief face. Second, I've been looking for it since I woke up, y'know. But I wasn't having any luck- [Which he looks very briefly and genuinely uneasy about.] -so I stopped over here to try warming up. Third, you seem like a no-nonsense kinda guy! I wanna hear what you have to say about how your style works, though, so how about we go scouting together? That way we can talk and get stuff done at the same time - look around and see if we can find our weapons, maybe some clues.

I've already done plenty of looking around with little to show for it -- this being close to my last stop.
