ENDGAME

Sunday morning starts peacefully enough. After the events of yesterday, it was probably a relief to go about your evenings, reveling in the presences of your friends and loved ones, grateful to be alive and well. Everything is quiet until around noon when alarms start going off on your phones. It’s a gentler sound than the noise that once alerted you to the executions to take place on Sundays. You can always ignore it until 1 PM, but then you’ll blink and find yourself back in the Central Node once again.

The color in the node seems a little brighter as the archway where the Tree once stood continues to shimmer. The fog has gently blown back, revealing an opalescent area just past the entrance. It’s warm and it’s inviting, little tears in the air around it showing off different places you may know as home.

You get the feeling that perhaps, finally, the Prism has listened to your wants and desires. Nothing is forcing you out right away, though nothing is making you stay either. The clock from the Tree continues to tick, counting down to twenty-four hours from now.

The Prism isn’t what it used to be, though all of the nodes have reverted to somewhat pleasant locations albeit drab. Take a tour of places you haven’t seen before, or say goodbye to the places you grew fond of in your time here.

Take your time to say goodbye. There's nothing stopping you from going to someone else's world - but you'll find you need to be careful. The Prism is a delicate thing, constantly in need of balance. You'll need to maintain it, if you're going to use it to go from place to place. All it takes is color - something strong, both positive and negative. When you come through to visit other worlds, you have to offer something that you have faced from home, big or small. A good day, the happy vibes from a birthday party, the sad vibes from a funeral, the pain of an injury. Coordinate, and take care of the space you have cultivated. It's your responsibility now to make sure the Prism doesn't try to hurt itself in its confusion.

You could even stay here if you wanted, now that the Prism’s cleaned up again. You'd slowly forget, just like the Residents did, but it'd be a long process. You could live a normal lifespan in peace.

Or don’t. So many of you are ready to return from where you once came. And that was never really the point, right? You have to face the music. It was always about taking your problems head on, and not running away.

Your phones will still work no matter where you go. You may not always be able to be together in person, but you'll always be in each other's contact lists.

As for your Residents, both current and past? It seems that Thinker, Revenge, and Scout have all vanished, their items mysteriously missing and pieces of themselves left to be regained. As for Dreamer... you don't know what happened to him.

For the living Residents, well. Fret, Rindo, Caduceus and Ei have a decision to make, too.

Make good choices, now. Balance is key.

[Well APPARENTLY they went to the closet together it looks like. That's fine. She is so surprised he's wearing sleeves, honestly??? She just opens the front o the jacket to like look at it and stuff.]

[She is way more playful than she would have been if this did not become the end result.

[ he is also grinning, but that's because he thinks he's funny. ]

[She is judging him because she was coded metallic, plus they are the same brand of person, but... she also unfortunately has horrendous tastes, so she likes it. She continues to hold onto the edge of the lapels of the jacket.]

Wow. So ready to get rid of me now that you know it isn't forever.

[ his stupid arms out turns into a palms up shrug. ]

I could have embarrassed you instead, but this seemed like the safer option.

[She gives him a flat look, but then she does sort of get mildly embarrassed about the threat.]

I wouldn't get embarrassed.

[ he is grinning Knowingly. ]

Oh, I'm not so sure... I think experience says otherwise...

You're just lucky I don't want to send you off like that.

[Ughhhhhhhhhhh. She wants to close the jacket so tightly it strangles him to death.]

Oh, so you're being nice now? [She can suck her teeth all she wants, but her face is red.] But you still want to send me off.

[She is trying so hard to one-up here.]

I'm not that nice. [ he has to suppress another stupid little giggle. ]

If I didn't show up, who knows how long you'd stand here. And if you recall... I said we could make a decision together.

[ he says, making the decision for her, ]

[She opens her mouth, but then shuts it. She can't be sassy when he's being (sort of) sincere about something they've discussed. She glances toward the archway, then back to him again.]

Going home to get rid of the Pharaoh...?

Someone has to. I'm still going to free my family, no matter what it takes.

[ murder may not be the best option but he still wants to beat the pharaoh's stupid ghost ass into the shadow realm. ]

I know. I'm rooting for you?

[She really should not be encouraging him, but she knows he will figure it out now without doing something horrendous... probably. Maybe.

She reaches up to brush some of his bangs to the side, but they do not stay, and she never learns this.]

Then what? After you're finished.

Hm... Seeing my sister, going back to Egypt... Then, traveling? Who knows what else.

Why? Are you making sure I didn't change my mind?

[ this is goodnatured, no hint of defensiveness at all. ]

[Hmmmm. She seems pleased with this mostly. He remembered.]

Maybe. Maybe... I'm just waiting to hear what else.

[She says this sort of pointedly.]

[ he looks back at her like maybe he doesn't get it? (he gets it) before reaching for her hand. ]

You could always come visit too, you know. I think the archway will go both ways.

[She lets him have her hand, but also gives him a look.]

Ha ha. Very funny. You aren't going to chicken out and not let me? [She's teasing.] ...I'd like to.

There's time. A lot more time now that we aren't trapped anymore.

[ gives her hand a little squeeze. ]

I'm not so sure what I'd chicken out about...? You're going to be seeing a lot of sand if you come to Egypt, that's not exactly something that I need to hide.

[withaswing]

I don't mind the sand. [She might complain when it, like, blows in her face, or gets in her shoes.] I'll just bury you in it.

[She pulls him a bit closer. This is extremely awkward in public despite the fact she thought it would not be for her.]

[ he told her about being embarrassed! HE TOLD HER. sadly malik has considerably less shame so even if it is a lil awkward he's just vibin through it. ]

I will. We may be apart, but you're not getting rid of me so easily.

I guess I'm stuck with you then.

[He's about as big around as a toothpick, but she will use him strategically to hide her from everyone else. There. They cannot perceive her being a fool when she is hidden.]

While I would love to see you work your magic, I'm kind of insulted you think I won't be able to put him in his place myself.

[She's joking, but still.]

[She hums as if she is considering this. It isn't a bad deal. Tatara could be a stronger lead; they'd definitely win then.]

I'll think about it. If he doesn't stop being an idiot.

[Don't just maniacally send her off?! Anyway, she pulls on the lapel of his jacket with her free hand. Pull, pull. Come down. No one is looking, it's fine. Kiss her before going, but don't be obnoxious.]
