WEEKEND ZERO: MINGLE
GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.
Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.
Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.
Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to
Things of note!
► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend, and happy settling!

[ now this girl has the right idea.
equally nyehehe: ] See anything around to pick the lock? Toothpick, stick, something? I'm not picky.
no subject
We could always break some stuff from the bridge. It's old enough. [ she's walking towards the door though? ] I'm gonna test it out first. Maybe the door's all weak and janked from this side.
no subject
[ says vax who is an expert in the evil that is doors ] Know how to?
no subject
[ she can't just say she understands and then say that so blankly. ]
Could always throw a rock at it and see what happens I guess.
no subject
[ someone is speaking from experience ]
A rock's a good start too. Let's get to it.
no subject
[ Helping. but she shrugs and sadly leaves behind the temple... by walking... horrid ]
Gotta go find the right throwing rock. Or stick. Or half eaten muffin.
no subject
[ equally helpful
but he is going to follow! hands going to his pockets, to examine the Rocks and also looking for something he can use to pick the lock maybe? ] Like something sharp, myself, but a half eaten muffin's good for bounce. [ ? ]
no subject
Well, I figure everything here's all broken and useless, so a half-eaten muffin's more likely than a knife or something.
no subject
[ WHERE are my DAGGERS
anyway he picks up a decent sized looking rock and tosses it in his palm in marcy's direction, with a raise of his eyebrows. how about this one ]
no subject
[ fuck knives. but she looks at the rock and shrugs ]
Decent for a trap test rock. It's not going to open the door or nothin' though.
no subject
[ he glances at his shoulders for a moment, frowning... but then shakes his head, and gives the rock a very light, underhand toss in marceline's direction. ]
Go for it. [ show him your trap testing technique ]
no subject
Okay.
[ YEETS IT AT FULL STRENGTH AT THE DOOR
nothing happens. ]
no subject
he
snorts. ]
Anticlimactic.
no subject
[ which means she is meandering over to try and open it ]
Let's see if we can break it open then.
no subject
[ grumbling!!! why is it every time vax faces off against a door grog is not around huh. he's still a little wary of the door itself, for good reason, and comes closer. ]
Before you bust the whole thing down - give it a tic. I'll show you - you showed me yours, yeah?
[ so he moves to lean against the door to check it for other traps! i don't know how this actually works in dnd just rest assured he's showing marcy tricks on how to do it and they're good tricks thanks ]
no subject
Haha, whaaaat. I didn't show you squat dude? [ but she watches him roll for trap checks. this is actually something she knows how to do but most of the time cannot be assed because she's immortal and does not care ] But cool. Are we good and fully trap free?
no subject
Far as I can tell, yeah. Your professional opinion?
no subject
[ helpfully. ]
The trap's probably whatever's on the other side.
