GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

[ woah everything is monochrome... even this girl's skin was changed?? look it's grey!! or maybe it always was greyish, who knows. but she's looking around only looking mildly confused? it's uncertain if she's talking to you or herself when she does talk, muttering in distate ]

Blech. Monochrome scaling. [ she's squinting warily at the sky for some reason? ] Mmm. Wonder how far this weird biz stretches? [ then she jumps in place and... firmly lands on her butt ] Ow. What the heck?!


2. the laboratory

[ marcy is WALKING and exploring, looking at everything with an unimpressed face. she makes a face back at some of the creatures, showing off her own pointy teeth with a hiss. she'll turn to look at anyone else there after curiously tapping on the glass with the creatures ]

Hey, this place is like, bonkers haunted. You hear it too, right? [ the. whispers. she keeps turning around when she sees something out of the corner of her eyes and frowning in frustration. ] Those things keep playing dead but I saw them look at me. Gross.

3. abandoned temple

[ she's staring at the door that keeps being banged on. she stares straight at it and then looks at the person nearest to her ]

Wanna try to open it and see what wants in?

[ the tone is VERY nyehehe. ]

We could always break some stuff from the bridge. It's old enough. [ she's walking towards the door though? ] I'm gonna test it out first. Maybe the door's all weak and janked from this side.

Haha... I don't know about fun, but it's a lot simpler, at least.

[clarte supports breaking things when you can't open a door. anyhow, they examine it again.]

Unfortunately, I don't seem to have my magic, so we'll have to try the old-fashioned way...
