Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

[ chang geng is doing a lot of picking around through the mansion, but hearing the comment of not even warm from someone near the fire draws his attention immediately. with a frown, he makes his way over, grabbing a chair that's already broken along the way. ]

[ he sets the chair down on the side opposite 9S in case they need it for science, flipping the back of his cloak with both hands so that it isn't near the fire as he crouches down. one hand reaches out, but doesn't touch, and -

okay. hm. his brow furrows, before he plucks some fur out of his cloak's mantle to flick into the fire instead of either of them touching it UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE. ]

Well, it still burns.

Many of the things here aren't of much use. The food, the water, the sleeping arrangements, the clockwork. Why not a fire, as well?

Heh. Sort of checks out, doesn't it.

[ 9S is not impressed by this. ]

So... what are we supposed to do here, then?

Sort of does. This place doesn't have much... well, muchness to it.

[ reaching, he breaks off one of the remaining legs of the chair with some wobbling, going to stick the end into the fire. ]

That's a question I unfortunately can't answer, though. I would say that we figure out how to survive while here, given the state of things, and go from there.

[ How to survive, huh. 9S looks over his shoulder to him. ]

Well... what do you need? Maybe we can't find any answers, but I could at least look for other things.
