WEEKEND ZERO: MINGLE
GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.
Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.
Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.
Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to
Things of note!
► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend, and happy settling!

By the Fury... [ He looks around, disoriented, and for now pays no mind to the lack of color in his armor. When he sees anyone, anyone at all, he raises a hand. ] Pray forgive me, may I have a moment of your time?
carnival noises (mumbled)
Specifically, in a dark house of mirrors with little lighting, he can be found! Via bumping into each other by accident. If you are tall enough: ]
My apologies... Say, have you seen a child? I swear that I heard mewling from this maze, but found naught until you.
[ if your character is short (subjective), ]
Are you injured? The lighting here is poor and I'm no chirurgeon, but outside we can see what's to be done.
wildcard
wildcard?
He's been trying to avoid everyone like the plague, except he sees this one briefly -- and he almost moves on, because the colour of the armour is just as distinctive as Aymeric's character, but it's hard to mistake the hair, the earring.
Because while Aymeric is probably snooping around somewhere (stop putting my name in your mouth bitch I don't want ANYONE here knowing of me, stop doing that), Estinien pauses and blurts it out in evident shock and surprise more than anything, first. ]
Aymeric?!
[ What in the hells. ]
no subject
... Estinien?
[ A part of him is like whew I'm not insane and hearing things earlier. ]
Loath I am to be in an unfamiliar place with not a familiar face in sight, hence I thank the Fury. [ He smiles, but apologetically. In a way, this is all kind of funny? Not in a haha way. ] As it were, you truly are ill-fated, my friend.
no subject
This i an ill-joke if I ever saw one.
[ He just shakes his head, rubbing his temples with his stupid clawed armour hands. ]
If I wasn't certain before, I am now that this realm is playing tricks on my mind and eyes.
[ What the fuck? What the fuck. He just is denying Aymeric's existence right in front of him. ]

I don't really think I have anywhere else to be, so sure?

It would be far too suited if you were a denizen of this realm, wouldn't it.
no subject
[ … it like. literally takes him a fucking moment to get past the ye olde english. ]
… Yeah, that’d be too easy. But thanks for saving me the trouble of asking you if you were from around here.

[She says brusquely, as if she'll just walk away if he gives the wrong answer.]
no subject
Thank you. [ To show he's grateful. ] This place is unfamiliar to you as well?
no subject
Yes. It is. [Glancing at his ears? Weird ears...] You don't know how you ended up here?

Also yams is short but he doesn't look like a child so I'm going with option one. That said, his first reaction is--]
--Wah!
[JUMPING BACK and reaching for--well, nothing, apparently??? He makes a grabbing motion at his hip, but there's nothing there. It's fine.
After a moment, he straightens back up and bounces back a few more steps, hands out at his sides as though nothing happened.]
A child? No, I haven't seen any. Maybe they're lost?
no subject
Aye, I'm of the same mind—[ THAT SURE IS CRYING. ]
no subject
Anyway yams was not one of the swords sent off to raise a baby so he just looks around uncertainly.]
Should we keep looking? [He doesn't want to get spooked by a ghost]

[ what do cats have to do with children. she looks around but then seemingly catches on ]
Oh, you mean the weird creepy children noises. Yeah, I don't think those are real kids. Or at least not alive ones.
no subject
Oh. [ He didn't consider that at first, so he's blinking. ] Are you... Insinuating...

But, no. She shakes her head, looking at him both a little warily and a little boggled. Sir, why the fuck are you so tall?]
No. I'm looking for them, too.
no subject
Two pair of eyes are better than one. I've scoured the immediate left side of the premise—[ the crying echoes somewhere behind them. ]
no subject
Well.
She gasps, her head whipping around in the same direction the noise came from.]
Shit, where—?
[Looking very much like she's ready to book it, but, uh. What the fuck constitutes as "behind them" in a dark house of mirrors?]

Nay, it seems that you are in a hurry. If you're beholden elsewhere, then I need not make you tarry.
