WEEKEND ZERO: MINGLE
GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.
Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.
Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.
Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to
Things of note!
► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend, and happy settling!

wildcard?
He's been trying to avoid everyone like the plague, except he sees this one briefly -- and he almost moves on, because the colour of the armour is just as distinctive as Aymeric's character, but it's hard to mistake the hair, the earring.
Because while Aymeric is probably snooping around somewhere (stop putting my name in your mouth bitch I don't want ANYONE here knowing of me, stop doing that), Estinien pauses and blurts it out in evident shock and surprise more than anything, first. ]
Aymeric?!
[ What in the hells. ]
no subject
... Estinien?
[ A part of him is like whew I'm not insane and hearing things earlier. ]
Loath I am to be in an unfamiliar place with not a familiar face in sight, hence I thank the Fury. [ He smiles, but apologetically. In a way, this is all kind of funny? Not in a haha way. ] As it were, you truly are ill-fated, my friend.
no subject
This i an ill-joke if I ever saw one.
[ He just shakes his head, rubbing his temples with his stupid clawed armour hands. ]
If I wasn't certain before, I am now that this realm is playing tricks on my mind and eyes.
[ What the fuck? What the fuck. He just is denying Aymeric's existence right in front of him. ]
no subject
... Well, he did think he hallucinated Estinien, so. ]
I know not of what led you to this conclusion, but I bid you a second opinion and gander.
[ LOOK AT HIM MOTHERFUCKER HE'S REAL ]
no subject
Circumstances which should be obvious to you, if you were a figment of my imagination.
[ He wrinkles his nose a bit, a distinct frown... ]
no subject
[ Good job, Estinien. Anyway, he offers a paw. ]
It may not assuage your doubts, but I am confident in not being an illusion.
no subject
[ He's still frowning at Aymeric's hand. He's a bitch so he doesn't take it, but looks at his old friend in the face instead.
It's as... well, Aymeric as he remembers it, even if the bizarre monochrome contrast is jarring. ]
I'd expect you'd find it fair that I wouldn't easily trust you given that I seem to be in a very strange, unworldly place, with nobody else I recognise and no spear upon my back.
Say something only we both would know.
no subject
I believe you’re the only one to know of my scruple when my late father bestowed unto me the Borel heirloom. ‘Twas summers ago.
You also prefer your omelette fluffy.
no subject
But then he mentions the omelette thing and that's apparently what properly convinces him because he would never say that out loud and had, frankly, forgotten he'd told Aymeric that once up until this very moment. All those days of Aymeric pestering him for the omelettes paid off in this very moment, actually. ]
Fine, it seems you're real, though quite frankly, that may be worse right now. How did you get here?
[ Leaves him hanging still, because he's crossing his arms over his chest in his favourite default pose. ]
no subject
Anyway, since his hand is out here, he gives a hefty pat to a non-pointy part of Estinien's shoulders. ]
I'd ask you the same. [ He doesn't know shit, man. ] Ere being summoned, I was discussing with the Warrior of Light and Lord Artoirel the state of matters. One wink and here I am.
no subject
With the Warrior of Light? About what?
no subject
Those matters aren't paramount while we're in this realm... But it would be a lie to say it isn't at the forefront of my mind. [ Crosses his arms. ] Let us speak elsewhere.
no subject
[ Crossing his arms, at any rate. Alright, well -- there's plenty of places to choose from, since it certainly seems they've got a wide berth of monochrome places to go. ]
Your pick, then.
[ He'll shelve his thoughts for private conversation. ]
