WEEKEND ZERO: MINGLE
GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.
Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.
Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.
Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to
Things of note!
► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend, and happy settling!

Nothing can hurt you here - do you want to leave?
[look he can't confirm or deny the bloodstains but he can at least try to like. escort her away]
no subject
If I just left then I wouldn't be of much help with inspecting the area, would I?
...
[ But she's also frozen in place. Fuck. ]
Can I hold onto your sleeve... ?
no subject
he'll unfurl his left sleeve since they were originally rolled up, and offer his elbow out to her so she has more room to hold onto him as much or as little as she'd like]
Sure. Let's go together.
no subject
Thank you... I'm sorry if this is an inconvenience.
no subject
It's nice to have company when scouting every now and then.
no subject
Though I'd prefer the first time I go to a carnival to not include... all of this, I guess. But it'll be a fond memory to look back on.
[ anyway ]
My name is Marie, by the way. Marie Amabuki.
no subject
I'm Buzen. It's good to meet you, Mari-san.
[that's not a typo he's just bad at pronouncing non-japanese names]
no subject
Plus the crying. But the more I think about it the more I doubt we'll run across any actual children here.
no subject
is this a date?]
Ah... yeah - it's probably just. [a beat, he stops himself from saying 'spirit' if only because she's already scared] ... a little trick!!
Should I take louder? I can make it harder to hear the crying!
[he just shouts for the rest of the convo if she wants]
no subject
N-No, that's quite alright... Don't babies usually cry louder when there's more noise?
no subject
If there were actually children around, I'd be more worried...
[but he thinks it's pretty much just mean pranks all around]
Mostly I just want to make sure you're alright.
no subject
I'm fine, really... I'm just thankful nothing is popping out of no where or dropping from the sky. That's the worst.
no subject
... does that happen often in your home?
[like when things pop out of nowhere in buzen's life they're enemies and he just gets to kill them all
but like,
civilians?]
no subject
I was honored to be with a friend, but hated every second of it.
no subject
[he's clearly saying this to mimic someone else's words]
Ahh, I see. If you don't do well with things like that, it can be really startling.
no subject
I guess this will all just be something I'll need to adjust to... though I'm not very keen of the idea. [ She hates it actually, thanks! ] But you're handling this very well, Buzen-san, it's very admirable.
no subject
[also the fact that buzen can't just say that he's also a spirit right here but he's thinking it]
I wouldn't say I'm admirable one way or the other, though! Everyone has something they find difficult, right? This stuff just isn't mine.
no subject
What would you say is your weakness, then?
no subject
Well... I think sometimes when you feel afraid, it can be hard to be left alone. So I can at least try to keep you company, even if you're going through something frightening. I hope that's alright.
As for me... Anything that requires too much difficult thinking? I'm not very good at it. Sometimes my head starts to hurt.
[himbo hours]
no subject
Even after all the kindness the member of the Go-Home Club has shown her, Marie can't seem to understand. She never... She never --
There's a sudden rush of nausea and Marie drops down; hand slipping from his sleeve and down his arm, gripping onto his fingers. Only letting go when she hears a ringing shriek in the back of her head. ]
I'm sorry. I'm sorry... I think... I have another migraine -- they've been so frequent lately. [ A distraction -- she needs a distraction. Her head spinning with a black swirling vortex of curses. So she feigns a breath of laughter. ] Buzen-san seems like the studious type, though.
no subject
Studious? I - if it's important to someone I know, I'll do my best.
[WHAT IS HE SUPPOSED TO DO HERE]
Don't say sorry. Are you alright? Do you want to find a place to sit down?
[HUMANS ARE SO FRAGILE A WIND IS ENOUGH TO KNOCK THEM OVER]
no subject
I can stand. [ She tries to demonstrate this, but ends up falling right back to the ground. Yay. ] ... Maybe.
