WEEK SEVEN: ENDGAME
ENDGAME

Sunday morning starts peacefully enough. After the events of yesterday, it was probably a relief to go about your evenings, reveling in the presences of your friends and loved ones, grateful to be alive and well. Everything is quiet until around noon when alarms start going off on your phones. It’s a gentler sound than the noise that once alerted you to the executions to take place on Sundays. You can always ignore it until 1 PM, but then you’ll blink and find yourself back in the Central Node once again.
The color in the node seems a little brighter as the archway where the Tree once stood continues to shimmer. The fog has gently blown back, revealing an opalescent area just past the entrance. It’s warm and it’s inviting, little tears in the air around it showing off different places you may know as home.
You get the feeling that perhaps, finally, the Prism has listened to your wants and desires. Nothing is forcing you out right away, though nothing is making you stay either. The clock from the Tree continues to tick, counting down to twenty-four hours from now.
The Prism isn’t what it used to be, though all of the nodes have reverted to somewhat pleasant locations albeit drab. Take a tour of places you haven’t seen before, or say goodbye to the places you grew fond of in your time here.
Take your time to say goodbye. There's nothing stopping you from going to someone else's world - but you'll find you need to be careful. The Prism is a delicate thing, constantly in need of balance. You'll need to maintain it, if you're going to use it to go from place to place. All it takes is color - something strong, both positive and negative. When you come through to visit other worlds, you have to offer something that you have faced from home, big or small. A good day, the happy vibes from a birthday party, the sad vibes from a funeral, the pain of an injury. Coordinate, and take care of the space you have cultivated. It's your responsibility now to make sure the Prism doesn't try to hurt itself in its confusion.
You could even stay here if you wanted, now that the Prism’s cleaned up again. You'd slowly forget, just like the Residents did, but it'd be a long process. You could live a normal lifespan in peace.
Or don’t. So many of you are ready to return from where you once came. And that was never really the point, right? You have to face the music. It was always about taking your problems head on, and not running away.
Your phones will still work no matter where you go. You may not always be able to be together in person, but you'll always be in each other's contact lists.
As for your Residents, both current and past? It seems that Thinker, Revenge, and Scout have all vanished, their items mysteriously missing and pieces of themselves left to be regained. As for Dreamer... you don't know what happened to him.
For the living Residents, well. Fret, Rindo, Caduceus and Ei have a decision to make, too.
Make good choices, now. Balance is key.

She has stolen an outfit from the closet, and her hair has been done a bit.]
Here I was ready to go, and now I've got cold feet.
no subject
Well, you certainly don't want to stick around here.
no subject
Maybe I do?
[She is way more playful than she would have been if this did not become the end result.
She grins slightly.]
Did you come to tell me bye...?
no subject
I came to push you through the archway if you changed your mind.
[ he is also grinning, but that's because he thinks he's funny. ]
no subject
Wow. So ready to get rid of me now that you know it isn't forever.
[DRY. But teasing.]
no subject
I could have embarrassed you instead, but this seemed like the safer option.
no subject
I wouldn't get embarrassed.
[Sometimes, you're stupid.]

[he's kidding. maybe let's not go yet.]
no subject
Very funny. Did you come to get another hug?
[She's teasing.]
no subject
Don't be weird. [but he also doesn't, like, answer that.] ...it's kinda surreal now, isn't it?
no subject
...
[She glances at the archway, thoughtful.]
Yeah. It's weird... to want to go home so badly, but now that you can, you're kind of hesitant because you're leaving everyone? Even though it worked out, and we can still see each other. [She gives him a sidelong look.] Should I expect you to never text me again?
no subject
it's fine, that can come later.]
Yeah, exactly. Everything worked the way we wanted to, and this isn't even really goodbye permanently but...it's still kinda weird to be the first to go. [but he makes a face at that.]
I already promised somebody else I'd text every day. Should I add you to that list?
no subject
[She is TRULY giving him a very difficult time, holy crap. This is what happens when she doesn’t have to be scared and emo about a fire situation.
She turns back into a mean girl.]

I didn't think it would be, but it is.
no subject
she'd twirl her around but she's short and not that strong.]
...I don't suppose I might be able to come and watch you dance, sometime soon?
no subject
Sure. The tournament we're joining is kind of soon, but there's still time before it happens. Usually, I'm a little embarrassed when people show up... but it should be fine. A lot of you wanted to see me dance, so.
no subject
Send me a message a few days beforehand. I'll make sure to clear my schedule.
no subject
Okay, I will. Are you sure you'll be able to make it if you're being both a doctor and a chef?
[She's kidding.]

BUT I'M BACK AND SO IS KASHUU and he's nyooming over to give her a hug right away.]
It's kinda weird saying bye after everything, isn't it?
no subject
She throws her arms around him to return his hug. Metallic bestie!! Why are we two extremely problematic best friends again??? our cr help me]
I know. It's only been, what? Not quite two months, but it feels... a lot longer. Like I've known you guys for longer.
[it's the trauma]
no subject
Hah, I know, right? It feels like we've been here for-e-ver! I'm not gonna miss the stuff we had to deal with, but it's gonna be a little sad, not being able to see you guys whenever...
[Patting her back like a bongo!!]
no subject
Hey, what the heck? You're trying to shove us off into non-existent territory now? [She's teasing. She knows what he means. But she can still give him shit for it.] I can't believe you're just never coming back to even see us whenever.
no subject
I'm a pretty busy guy, y'know! Don't forget that I'm an idol! [AND IN A WAR.] Buuut... Since I like you guys so much, I guess I can pencil you into my schedule.
[He's going to visit them all so much they'll get sick of him.]
no subject
This makes her laugh, and she covers her mouth with a hand.]
I know you would just think about us having all the fun together and feel left out, Kiyomitsu...
[hehe]
