Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

[For once in his life, Kashuu keeps his very stupid opinions about the importance of one's looks to himself. It is only because he cares more about looking cute than looking cool.

He'll follow this lad's stare, though, over toward that funky funky shadow.]

—Hey, have you been seeing these the entire time here? Just to make sure it's, y'know... Not just me.

[ He squints, as if to check if the shadow is still there. Or if any are there, but they seem to be gone. As if they know they're :looking:. ]

... I confess, I had believed that they were signs of my weariness, but aye. I've been seeing shadows lurking about, as if they follow another, only to find nothing there. You're not alone.

I don't like 'em. [Rude.] They make this whole place feel super haunted... Not as much as the temple, but pretty close! Human spirits, maybe.

Huh... She just called herself a spooky vampire when we were talking about it, but it's just 'cuz we got distracted talking about blood.

[Normal. But!! With the coast clear, he'll go on over, sneakin' into the next room. There's a big ol' hole in the wall that he promptly moves toward and tries to peer into...]

Yeah, I don't actually know what eating a color even looks like... Maybe it'd hurt.

But! I don't think that'll be a problem, anyway. Or I really hope it won't? There's still a little red around here that's not blood...

... Since we are not red, only the clothing would be in pain, I imagine.

It'll work out itself. Marceline proved to be reliable from my experience.
