Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

[ sometime in the early afternoon, vanille can be found at the temple, very cold, very tired, very skittish. her grayscale clothes definitely haven't done her any favors, with as little as they cover her body, but here she is exploring anyway. should anyone else be in the area, she quickly glances over to them warily as the cries behind the door intensify, frown etched deep into her features. ]

What do you think's actually happening behind that door? They—[ she nods her head toward some of the shadowy, ghostly figures drifting about ]—clearly don't want us to go back there, but why do you think that is...?

Nogiku waits for a few seconds, watching their surroundings, before she sighs.]

[She says, just before one of the test tube creatures blinks and looks their way.]

[ Slides in tagging late it has been a cold open weekend (literally but get it, anyway its rainy and freezing) and I hibernated. ]

I haven't an idea and if it's blocked off, then all for the better. No point in recklessly opening a door that very clearly doesn't want to be opened.

You're free to keep trying the doors if you wish, but if they won't seem to budge no matter what, there may very well be a good reason for it.

Aside that 'tis not like it seems to be getting any worse.

well vax is no longer clown amkeup'd thank god when he comes to investigate the temple again and sees a girl standing in front of it. he sort of. watches awkwardly for a few minutes before eventually coming up quietly. he's not too close, but eventually, there's another voice over the crying behind the door. ]

...It might just be an illusion on purpose. This whole place's off. Meant to mess with your head. Or... maybe it's where the color's all gone, or something.

[ vanille is normally more alert, but due to her current state, vax is able to sneak up on her, which causes her to jump a little when he speaks up. ]

... If it's well and truly trapped back there, it kinda stands to reason it might be meant to be trapped back there. Especially if it's doing that much rattling and banging and nothing's happening.
