Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

Yeah. I said they were nasties. [ disgusting. it is much better to drink pigmentation. ] It's all down to the natural urges too though. Sometimes you get so hungry you just want to rip people apart.

I mean, I guess even humans can get pretty crazy when they're hungry... But if you can just drink red, it's probably not much of a problem, right? [...] Normally.

Yeah, normally! [ she does not expand on this. at all. ] Nothing normal about this place though. Cold fire that burns, color drained from our clothes and the scenery, a bunch of arches that portal us places...

Yeah, it's definitely not an average walk through the park, that's for sure. We're not gonna have to worry about you tearing someone up for their blood if you don't find any red, are we?

Well, if there was a way in, there's definitely a way out. Kind of annoying that it's been so hard to find, though...

Normally they're a lot easier to find than this!

Maybe it's one of those guys where you gotta work up to it, you know? Find all the henchmen and then you get to the big guy.

Probably! Or maybe we have to unlock those, too. Like... solve a dumb puzzle or something.

Oh my god... I really hope not. I'm not good at puzzles and stuff, I'm way better at fighting.

Maybe we can get other people to solve them. Puzzles are boring.

[ marceline refuses to do things in a non violent way thank you ]

[He will put the conversations he had with Bubblegum and Marceline together later and be like wow they're a perfect duo, they do the equivalent of eating each other's least favorite vegetables.]

I'm sure there's gotta be some people around here who like doing that kinda- [nerd] -stuff, right? If puzzles pop up, they'll pop up, too.
