WEEKEND ZERO: OVERFLOW

WOW

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to [community profile] chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend, and happy settling!

The fam lives a little further out, but my school's in Tokyo~! You've heard of Veludo Arts University, right? It's the place to be if you're a creator!

Hm. I can't say that I have, but I'm not really up to date with schools in the city.

[sometimes... u have 0 knowledge,]

You must be pretty smart to be at a university.

Oh, so does that mean you're from the country?

Thanks! I try, but art is less about the smarts and more about the vibes, you know? Even if you don't have the talent to start off, you can still make something awesome that makes people feel something, and that's what matters most.

I'm from the city too, but there aren't a lot of universities around where I live.

[hm]

But it takes talent to move people's hearts too, right? And it takes smarts to know what your audience needs.

I guess there are some areas that are more popular for schools than others, huh?

You bet! You've got to be able to read the room. It won't be fun for anyone if you're going against the mood!

Sounds like you're used to that kind of thing, too.
