GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

he tilts his head, apparently in perfectly fine spirits despite the Weirdness]

Haha, though I can't say my travels brought me here on purpose. Can I ask who you are?

[she's immediately thrown off by that tone, and she stares his way for another moment trying to decide if it's an act, before:]

...We are both travelers. [...] How did you come here, if not on purpose?

[nodding easily at that.]

Haha! If we're both travelers, would you tell me your favorite place to visit?

As for how I got here.... I'm still figuring that out! I'm a little surprised...

[his answer sets her at ease a little, but in turn, the question throws her off. there's a moment of discomfort where she thinks about how to answer, before:]

[which will clearly mean something to him.]

Where were you before this?

[hasteful]

Luthadel? You've traveled even farther than I have, I'm not familiar with it. What's it like?

[he hums thoughtfully at the question]

I was by Edo Castle.

[allomantic]

You haven't heard of the capital of the empire?

[it's more puzzled than judgmental - another thing to add to the pile of things that don't add up about this.]

I don't know what that is, either.

[hasteful]

It's the Imperial Palace....

... so I suppose we haven't heard of each other's capitals!

[frowning slightly, as she glances towards the ceiling, thinking.]

This place is... wrong.

[that's one word for it, at least.]

I think I'm far from home.

[hasteful]

[nodding]

... mm, I feel the same. None of this landscape looks familiar and normally when I travel, I'm at least aware of where I'm headed...

... do you wanna go back home?

[allomantic]

[she pauses again.]

I do not want to be somewhere I don't recognize.

[that's... close to an answer to the question he asked, sure.]

[hasteful]

[he nods, seeming to accept that easily enough]

... should we try to make a map of the place then? Or make it at least a little more inhabitable.

[allomantic]

[she nods to the idea about the map, but, confused:]

Mm, well... there isn't much to eat or rest on....

[she seems young though so he won't go too much into detail about the troubles of it]

So I'd like to gather soft materials and maybe scavenge some food to give to people!

[allomantic]

[there's a moment where she gives him a long look, trying to decide if he's being honest or not, before:]

You don't know these people.

[it's a statement, but there's a question implied in it, too.]

[hasteful]

[he shakes his head]

[does she expect him to explain his desire to be helpful and kind

[he seems surprised, like he genuinely didn't expect this]

I didn't really think about that. I just don't want anyone to go hungry or have trouble resting. It's already a bad situation - no need for it to get worse.

[allomantic]

That's kind of you.

[something about her tone makes it seem like she's not sure whether or not to believe his intentions are that altruistic (what other motivations could he have for this vin), but she doesn't outright state that skepticism.]

[hasteful]

[he just laughs a little bit at that]

It's just what I want to do - but if you think it's kind, I'll take it as a compliment.

Do you want to go searching with me? So if I find anything good, you can have it.

[because he's starting to think if he offers her anything, she might not want to take it. but he just wants vin to have a blanket!!]

[allomantic]

[she wrestles with herself for a moment on that question, but in the end...]

It'll go faster with two.

[nods!!]

Maybe if we try again in one of the clearings... or perhaps in the household...?

I don't really understand this place - or the other one, with the strange laughter of children. [the carnival]

[she sounds surprised, but then she thinks for another moment]

The household first, I think. Maybe we'll find a clue about who lives here.

I can't really tell... I wonder if it's just some spirits having their mischievous fun.
