WEEKEND ZERO: MINGLE
GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.
Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.
Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.
Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to
Things of note!
► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend, and happy settling!

[right after everyone arrives, you might notice a girl with a thin horizontal scar across one of her cheeks, wearing what looks like attire designed for stealth, who's staring up towards the monochrome sky as she picks herself up. she looks plenty confused, both by the sudden lack of color and the sudden change in overall scenery - but when she takes in the fact that she's not alone, she's
sprinting away from the rest of the group immediately. bye.]
laboratory
[she's wandering around most of the area, but the laboratory takes her interest based on just how unnerving it is. she has one of the smaller test tubes in her hand, an empty one, when she hears a sound of movement and a low whisper. the noise might have come from nowhere, but the way she glances around in response makes her take notice of the other person in the area with her. she scowls at whoever it is, looking like she's ready to bolt if they make a move she doesn't like, but she'll ask—]
Who are you?
[incredible conversationalist right here.]
wildcard
[hit me up with anything else, smooches everyone]
lab uwu
the girl vanishing away from the group does not miss vax's attention, and he pulls the hood of his own cloak up to go do his own investigating; the minute he catches sight of her again, he slips into the laboratory behind her, soundless and quiet.
so, when the strange whispering noises start and she turns and sees him - well, he's not whispering, but vax is there, a similarly cloaked and hooded stranger in stealthy clothes. there's a beat, like he wasn't expecting to be seen. ]
Not a local. [ obviously ] You?
no subject
[she looks incredibly wary even after he explains that, but she at least doesn't outright say she doesn't believe him. she shifts slightly, trying to make herself small (well, smaller) almost by habit as she thinks about what she wants to ask next.]
How did you get here?
no subject
's a great fucking question. [ a little chuff. he can hazard a guess, maybe, but its rare enough he gets sent off places without some explanation. ] But if I'm here, something's fucked up about it.
Any idea how you got here, either?

Eh—? [GLANCING OVER. He'd been distracted by some tentacle eyeball monster it's fine. He still seems pretty distracted as he talks, even though introductions are his favorite thing...]
Oh - Kashuu! Um - I reeeally don't think it's a good idea to be touching that stuff, though. Like, isn't that a totally classic sci-fi horror plot?
no subject
What?
[vin talk for more than one sentence challenge]
no subject
Y'know, like. You pick up a tube in some abandoned lab but it's actually super radioactive so you end up dying of radiation sickness a week later? Or it just mutates you into some weird space alien or something.

he tilts his head, apparently in perfectly fine spirits despite the Weirdness]
Haha, though I can't say my travels brought me here on purpose. Can I ask who you are?
no subject
...We are both travelers. [...] How did you come here, if not on purpose?
no subject
Haha! If we're both travelers, would you tell me your favorite place to visit?
As for how I got here.... I'm still figuring that out! I'm a little surprised...
