WEEKEND ZERO: OVERFLOW
WOW

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.
Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.
Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.
Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to
Things of note!
► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.
Stay tuned for more updates throughout the weekend, and happy settling!

Estinien
I. OLD MONOCHROME, NEW TO YOU.
[ Well, haven't we all found ourselves in a foreboding little place. This tall elfman opens his eyes slow, and the first thing that comes to his countenance is a slight frown. He digs the tips of his armoured feet into the dirt, finding it to be real -- a careful, but deep breath of the air, finding that to be adequate. ]
...A fine mess we've put ourselves in, Nidhogg.
...
...Nidhogg?
[ He glances over his shoulder and finds nothing on his back except his armour. He scowls, immediate, gods damn it. Were you standing nearby? This scowl might accidentally be directed at you, though ere your expressions meet, he quickly turns to look away -- and follow that up by walking away, just as fast.
Goodbye!!! ]
Chinacchi
Seems quite evident with all the colourlessness itself. My armour was never saturated, but it's no less jarring.
[ ...He makes a slight face... ]
If we find your phone, will you move on?
no subject
Yes.
[This is partially a lie; she will heckle him if she ever needs to but he should be use to being heckled from canon, it's fine.]
no subject
Fine. As an aside task while figuring out which way is up and down with this place.
[ This is a side quest........ ]
no subject
We can kill two birds with one stone. Even if we can't find my cellphone, maybe we can figure out why we're here.
[Hm. Tapping her chin.]
Which archway?
no subject
He doesn't offer an answer nor clarity to the figuring out the why of it all. He has his own thoughts.
Well, he raises a armour-clawed finger and points towards... the Laboratory. The purplish light... which idk if are visible but you know what, vibes. Feel free to say no. ]
no subject
She follows his point to the spooky laboratory archway. Of course he would pick the Hojo lab place. Very Square of him. Well, come along, Great Value Sephiroth.
Hilariously, even though she is a normie and just enlisted his armored assistance, she is the first one to start heading for the archway without any hesitation.]
no subject
Estinien doesn't have any qualms about walking through it either, but he just stares at where they've landed up. ]
Haven't explored anything yourself, yet? [ What the shit is this. ]

Crowsie
What are you going to do, fist-fight every shadowed beast that may come up behind corners?
no subject
Preferably I’d stab them? But that’s not an option, and I’m not planning on rolling over and going “ohhh mister shadow monster, don’t stab me through the back, I’m fraaaagile.”
[ don’t worry i already hate myself. ]
no subject
Unfortunately Crow's sarcasm gets no warm reception. It gets a perfectly neutral one, though, so that's something. He does not believe for a second that Crow is fragile. ]
There are plenty of what appears to be abandoned buildings. You could make do with a piece of particularly sharp stone for a knife.
no subject
[ well, that's basically an admission of friendship. thanks, new bestie. ]
Could do. There's broken glass too, but that's sharp on both ends. Might find a little debris later and get crafty.
no subject
Crafty, huh.
[ Like you know how to craft, or. Secret 90 CRP Crow Armbrust? ]
no subject
now. ]
Yeah. Like... tie a sharp piece of glass to a hefty piece of wood kinda crafty. Not gonna shred my hands to ribbons that way.
no subject
Now, give him a second as he's imagining whatever the hell Crow's trying to make. Which really only brings up one shape to his mind. ]
As in a polearm?

Sounds like you're offering to take up some kind of shepherding role.
baseball slides in here.

[ Still being alive after 20 years of it and whatnot. ]
no subject
Is that practically your job then?
no subject
[ No. ]
no subject
[ he's obnoxious im sorry? ]

Kurara
Hm. It's not my job to think about it -- if it tries to kill me, all I'm concerned with is stopping it.
[ No brain here. ]
