WEEK SIX: MINGLE
MINGLE

A bittersweet victory, isn't it? You solved everything this past weekend. No mysteries were left unsolved, and now things seem to have settled down. Of course, there's surely plenty on your mind by now. As always though, time marches on. You must keep moving ever onward.
At the far end of the park in the central node, you'll hear the faint sound of rumbling as something new appears. The Prism is opening itself to you all, showing you what it's capable of, and providing you with space to explore.
For those of you feeling particularly daring, you are free to explore a bit further on your own. But even before you leave the apartments, perhaps you'd like to pay a visit to the gumball machine in the lobby.
Strange. Some of you may have gained or lost a color since this time last week, but it's not like many of you will ever tell. In fact, many of you are very, very bad at sharing. Many of you continually suppress your own emotions whether for the sake of others, or in order to go unnoticed. It's hard to say what your motivations are sometimes. This week, however, the suppression... isn't exactly for the best. You may feel a strange twinge in your chest, a slightly uncomfortable tickle in your throat, and then before you can stop it, you find yourself coughing up a handful of flowers. All different shades, all representing your hidden feelings, this disease takes its hold and infects everyone in the Prism. Too bad the timing isn't always the most convenient either.
Finally, as always, you may contact the residents at any time. They may even have something new for you to do.

Welcome to your week six mingle for
![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
Things of note:
► This week's effect is hanahaki! Yup. For all suppressed emotions characters may be feeling, after some time they'll find themselves coughing up flowers in different colors representing those feelings.
► The flowers can be any type you want for the aesthetic. It can be one or two flowers, or it can be a lot of them. Whichever way you wish to play it is fine.
► Moida submissions continue to be open!
► More to come... keep your eyes and ears open.
TOWN MEETING 🏛️
meeting hall
you all know the drill
[ 'bout that time, ey chaps? time to gather in the meeting hall and talk about all the weird and wonderful shananigans that have happened to everyone since the last time everyone met up, and to get out the tinfoil conspiracy hats and start banging out a few theories. crow's already sat at the table, dressed in a way that suggests his ongoing troubles with the cold might be over and done with. he's looking pretty healed up too, in comparison to the weekend.
he does not have anything to stab into the table, but his feet are up on it so there's probably enough of an impression to get everyone started. ]
We all know what we're here for, so let's go.
[ once again there is a board for notes and brand new information, use it well fellow murdergamers.
brace for the usual subtitles, yo. ]
CYOA UPDATES

We were taken through an archway to a forest of... talking animals. [ wrinkling his nose ] They told us that the owner of a nearby cottage could perhaps help us if we waited long enough. We just ended up being stuck in the cottage for a week instead with a cabinet full of weapons and a bad smut book.
Eventually, we were able to leave, and encountered a witch in a hut. She said she would offer us help in exchange for a bargain. She was quite dramatic about it and... rude. She sniffed us a lot... [ :| ] Eventually, she gave us these small dolls, semblances of those we were looking for, but it wasn't long before we were separated in a rather large wood full of bramble full of all sorts of illusions.
[ he hums ] When had to separate after that once more, into four separate tunnels. I can only speak for myself, but it felt as though a couple of weeks had passed going through that tunnel, in a place i knew well... though I didn't tire or grow hungry, I simply felt as though time had passed. We reunited when we made it out at an oasis after that.
It was full of animals in all shapes and colors, all species, even ones I'm certain I've never seen before, but just beyond them we could see some animals had been petrified... and then... some people as well. [ he pauses ] Turns out there were monsters that could turn you to stone if you held their gaze long enough.
[ there's a moment where he just kind of rubs his eyes under his glasses. ] You can assume what happened next—we... had to fight them and ended up defeating them all... despite everything. As it turns out, Shale's family was there, among the stone statues of our friends. They had a staff with a large pink crystal on it, which was able to reverse the petrification and send us home. We were able to bring it with us and have since returned it to him.
[ HE'LL JUST. GLANCE AT THE OTHER THREE if they want to throw in. this is just the general gist of their adventure. ]

team twewy - riff side
Damien, Marceline, and I ended up in Riff's world, from his memories. Esti-san, Garou, and Emet were there too, I think together with Himawari? Since they're from the same world... we didn't see them at first, though.
We had to use "pins" to fight animal monsters, and get stamps on a card--I don't think that part was all that important, aside from learning how to fight and "sync" properly. But eventually we found Riff, or some illusion of him, being attacked. ...Ah, people from our world were around too, but we didn't talk to them.
[Thanks Marcy.]
Anyway, we had to rescue him, and it was a hard fight, but he helped us. But while we were fighting, we could hear his thoughts, and sense his emotions. [He looks down at his lap.] It wasn't good. I don't know how he's feeling now, but he was really suffering.
After that, all of us met up with Esti-san and Himawari's group. But Himawari and Riff... I think they might've been refracting? Or something like it. They turned into a huge monster, and it took all of us to defeat them and bring them back to themselves. They were having a really hard time--when we read their thoughts, it felt like they were "losing" and "drowning". We had to remind them who they were, and that everyone here was waiting for them.
It sounds like they got more memories back, after all of that.

team twewy: bass side
[he's saying this all in as businesslike a manner as he can. it's fine. give him a second to discreetly cough a couple flowers into his hand.]
When we found Bass-- mayhap the strangest element of all of this was that elements of the prism were there. His archway was there in the city, and he was in his first form here, rather than his current shape. Garou was separated from us, but Estinien and I were taken to the same grey space we see every Sunday. [so. also bad.] We defeated a creature, there, and were able to rescue him.
The rest, Yasusada has explained, but... Bass evidently remembers small parts of what happened. Not what we restored to them, but what actually occurred in the city.
[but that's all he's saying on that for bass's own privacy.]

[ time to be helpful and not just talk about asses: ]
When Yasu, Soosh, Damien and I went on our little adventure to the castle a few weeks ago, there were a lot of parallels to this place. Soosh said something about it when he was talking to Vin, and it reminded me.
Ours was about the difference between "safe and stagnant" and "taking risks for growth." When we first got there, I could barely remember anything about this place, or anyone, or who I was. We remembered the more terrible shit we went through, too. Not to mention, at the end... at least, for me, the person who I saw from here was definitely refracting. Didn't know that then, but now, it feels obvious. There was a lot of stuff in it tied to our emotions, too.
Also wanted to mention, too. The first thing happened to us there - we could've fought a monster, and I think I definitely would've fought it, but Yasu stopped me, and we ended up befriending it, instead.
Iunno how much of its relevant, but Soosh brought it back up from the dead, so I figured I'd bring it back here, too.

Estinien had one from 9S, I got one from Wicked, and for some reason we also found one that was meant for Percy, so ... he's got that one now. Ask them about it for the contents, if they want to share.
[ ... ]
Couple of important things from my letter: Wicked mentioned that they're fading away wherever they are. Talking to each other is helping them, but being remembered also helps so... time to start doubling up on that duty.
Also, if you're a twink she's gonna beat your ass but I'm honestly not sure which twink she's referring to specifically, so. Brace yourselves I guess. [ his money is on damien or itsuki. ]

And in that message-- it appears they wish for refraction. Think it ought to be embraced. They made mention of their own death at another's hands, and how this somehow altered their perspective. Combined with the message Clarte has already shown, from one who regretted going along with Dreamer's ideas... I think it goes without saying that we ought not take heed of their words too readily.
[just a preemptive warning, before he continues:]
In the end of this note they wrote: "Blood is the only way out, it must be," repeatedly. Over and over, overlapping itself to where it was nigh illegible, frantic.

either way, he's pretty quick to speak up today. ]
... Last week, I was able to get one of my abilities back as the Champion of the Raven Queen. Once a week, I can guide someone to make contact with one of the dead. Vin and I met with Atsushi and learned a couple things. Biggest takeaway is that we need to not go along with what the Prism wants of us, not get complacent. That goes for everyone, including the residents. It's important to help them realize this place's fucking up their memories.
...I think I have an idea of who to take this week, but beyond that, it'd be good to come up with a list of questions to ask of them, or information we want to deliver to the dead as clearly as possible as a whole. The power isn't as strong as I like - I can only hold the connection for a little while, and no one can touch, but it's at least enough to get started.
We asked about refractions, about Dreamer, and about a few other things. Sneaky did all the talking, so she can report more of the details, too. Just don't ask anything personal of her, yeah?

If we have questions, we should ask the Residents or even just questions in general, we should ask them aloud, even if we don't have answers. They're able to try and search for the answers on their side as well and do their best to send answers to us in their own letters, which seem to be redacted in certain parts. Likely something that can't be transmitted from different sides of the prism.
I think it may be a good idea to send them the symbols from the compass as well? To see if anything makes sense on their part?

Regarding the dreams which leave pig tattoos-- I've something of a working theory. Do confirm or deny if you are able to, but... it appears one is assigned a task after receiving the dream, and as far as I am able to tell, the... 'pig with a gun' tattoo is likely the result of not completing it.
Given their somewhat unnerving nature, and the messages they appear to convey, asking if we want to know how to get out... combined with Dreamer's note, I think it likely they are the source, even if it feels a bit on the nose. [dreamer sending dreams who would think such a thing.] In asking about them, I was told they were someone who only pretended to be nice, and who would probably dislike being ignored. [hence the. threatening version for not doing it.] In addition- that if the dreams are something they are pushing, their message is unlikely to be good.
However, it may still be worthwhile to see just what they are attempting to say, and I would not necessarily say to avoid completing the task if one is able.

So this might not be as relevant to everything coming up now, but, um...
[ there's a healthy bit of hesitation there, and he coughs a little into his hand... but what was it someone said? face the scary stuff? well, here goes. ]
If you guys have more questions about refracting, like what came up in trial, you can ask me. I was refracting the week before Percy, and it - it made me kill Nines. It's not fair to keep taking things like that to Percy every time they come up, so I'll try to answer things, too, if I can. That's all.
