GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

I. landing zone

[ Waking up face-planted to the ground and not a courtroom podium is an experience. It's a time. Ryunosuke picks himself up enough to stumble back on his palms in surprise, dull shock leaving him uncharacteristically still and silent for a moment before his eyes practically leap out of his skull for how hard they're bugging out.

What. What? His wide-eyed stare lands on whoever's closest, voice warbling. ]

Ah. H-Hello? Are we— [ kidnapped? arrested? DEAD? ] —where—!?

[ Or maybe you catch him a few moments later, where he suddenly braces and—slaps himself on the face. Both sides of his face, open-palmed. It's a loud smack in an otherwise dreary quiet.

Several seconds later: ]

...Oh, no. [ Cool. Not a dream! help ]

[ At first, he'd been drawn to the temple as something familiar, a style of architecture he attributes to home—except rather than the placid lull of a well-kept temple, it's dark and cold and someone is really unhappy to be here, judging by the way something batters against the door.

He literally jumps back at the noise, scanning about wildly for the source of it before looking over at whatever other unfortunate soul's stumbled nearby. ]

...I-Is someone in there?

[ this place is incredibly ominous, but at this point he's just looking longingly at an empty hot dog bun. ]

[ he jumps, startled, so deep in thought about bread that he's not expecting miss pants to show up. ]

[ his mind blanks at the bread ultimatum she's challenged... ]

[He's not the CREATURE FROM BEHIND THE LOCKED DOOR, but he is just kinda vibing in the area! Warily. He doesn't look too out of place or discomforted here, outside of the disgruntled looks he's giving to whatever thing is locked up and desperately trying to get out...

But he'll incline his head in this nerd's direction, curious.]

Probably not someone. I mean, humans aren't usually locked up in places like this, yeah?

[ this nerd gives this weirdo who calls other people 'humans' a look. it has the vibes of a man who calls women by 'females.'

but to respond to his words, his eyes flick right back to the door, concerned. ]

...They can be. Humans can fit in all kinds of places...

[ he sounds a little haunted by this. ]

[STOP HE'S DOING A VERY GOOD JOB OF FITTING IN WITH THE HUMANS HERE. His hand rises to his hip where there is literally nothing there but frills and makes a gesture like he's used to resting it on something. Normal.]

...You sound like you've seen some stuff.

I mean, my guess'd be an oni or some kinda evil spirit, but I guess it could just be a really angry person?
