WEEKEND ZERO: MINGLE

GREETINGS

Unnerving. That may be the best word to describe how the vibes feel as your sight begins to clear and you find yourself on the ground. The air is chilly, and you don't see anything that may represent the sun or the moon for a sense of time. You look around expecting to find some sort of buildings, wildlife, or anything of use, but your immediate line of vision only shows a sprawling monochrome landscape.

Are you feeling adventurous? As you get to your feet, you have the opportunity to wander further and begin assessing the situation. You'll quickly find that the only thing on your person are the clothes on your back. Traveling will eventually lead you to a few areas, though none of them appear very promising either.

Don't stray too far, however. While there are few hints of plant life (nothing nourishing, nothing satisfying), you won't find much else. There's no food or running water; resources seem scarce. The further you go, the more you begin to feel colder and weaker. Your eyes begin to play tricks on you, and everything ahead of you looks unfocused and even more gray than before. An imminent sense of danger hangs above you...you can't quite pinpoint why, but your gut instinct says there's something else out there just lying beyond your reach.

Perhaps you'll have luck another day. For now, it seems as though your only option is to make use of the areas you do have access to and try to settle in. But don't worry, you aren't alone. There's 35 other people just waiting to see what you'll do next.

Welcome to your weekend zero intro to

chroma! While characters have access to the locations available, they do not have access to anything else including their home items. Please note that characters do not know what their primary color or complementary colors are as of yet, and IC profiles are not in-play at this time.

Things of note!

► You can find food (cotton candy, stale hot dog buns with no hot dogs, etc) in the carnival, but none of it is filling. It's monochrome, and you're hungry again five minutes later.
► There's water in the mansion but it's kind of grey.
► Seriously, it's cold.
► You arrive in your canon outfit. It is also monochrome, like someone drained the dye out of your clothes.

[There is a very frilly person here! Even without the colors, this outfit looks extra as hell, though the person wearing it seems a little more subdued for now. Catch him in one of two situations! He's either 1) wandering through the rooms, turning over pillows and blankets, looking under furniture, even peeking through some of the holes in the walls. Anyone ambling by will get a somewhat tense:]

Mind helping me look for something?

[...Or 2) looking cold and miserable and practically pressed up against the fireplace about as close as he can get without setting himself on fire. Anyone who walks into the room gets a distressed look as he GESTURES TOWARD THE FIRE.]

Hey! C'mere! Am I going crazy or is this fire just, like, totally not hot at all—?!

[Someone's about to witness a sword trying to relive his days at the smithy.]

[Now here's a familiar place that calls to his soul! Kashuu can be found either leaning over the side of the bridge and staring down at the river far below, or poking around in the shrine grounds, seemingly very at home despite the general spookiness.

Except when it comes to that bolted door. Hm. Catch him leaning against one of the pillars of the gate outside, peering toward the shrine center. Maybe you'll hear him muttering a little:] But it doesn't feel like...

[Or maybe you catch him giving the door an absolutely Disconcerted look as the banging noises start. No thanks!! He'll flap a hand in the direction of anywhere nearby before gesturing in the exact opposite direction.]

We prooobably shouldn't stick around to find out what that is, just saying.

Anyway wow he's just immediately and without hesitation sticking his gloved hand into the fire. At least it's fingies-first and not wholeass fist in... This is the difference between him and Yasusada.]

[Which obviously goes the way you'd expect when sticking your hand in a fireplace! He's immediately shrieking and yanking his hand back out. The glove is chiffon so it offers absolutely no protection and instead just starts going up in flames???]

Oh my god—!!

[On the plus side, he's at least smart enough to know how to smother fires. ON THE DOWNSIDE HIS OTHER HAND ALSO HAS A CHIFFON GLOVE please help. Or just let him perish week 0 day 1.]
